Energy Pyramid
The Energy Pyramid is a diagram of energy transfer through the trophic levels. The diagram is representative of this because it is has a large amount of energy at the bottom and only a small amount of energy at the top. That's why you normally find that there are more plants in area than predators. 10% of the energy from one level is transferred to the level above it. One of the feeding strategies is the Spotted Skunk spraying its prey with body-made liquids that give of an awful stench. Another feeding strategy is how the Scrub Jay hunts. It preys on the Cactus Wren's babies soon after they hatch, when the parent is away finding food.
